In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) in February, Dr. Jerry volunteered at a Give Kids A Smile event in East Harlem on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026. The event was organized by the New York County Dental Society and brought together dental professionals from across New York City to provide free dental care to children in the community.
Dr. Jerry attended the event alongside Margie. Together, they spent the day seeing young patients and performing dental exams. Over the course of the event, they were able to care for more than 50 children, helping ensure kids received important checkups and guidance on maintaining healthy smiles.
The event is part of the national Give Kids A Smile initiative, which focuses on expanding access to dental care for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to receive it. Volunteers provide exams, preventive care and oral health education while creating a welcoming and positive experience for young patients.
For Dr. Jerry and Margie, the day was a meaningful way to give back. By supporting families in East Harlem and helping dozens of children receive dental care, they contributed to the ongoing effort to promote healthy habits and improve access to oral health services for kids.

Dr. Jerry recently visited local YMCA schools to spend time with students and teach them about the importance of dental care from an early age.
During the visit, Dr. Jerry spoke with the children about how taking care of their teeth every day helps keep their smiles healthy and strong. He was joined by hygienist Lily, and together they created a fun and interactive lesson that made learning about oral health exciting for the students.
To help demonstrate proper brushing techniques, they used a giant toothbrush and a large model tooth so the children could clearly see how to brush all sides of their teeth. They also showed how to floss using a large rope to represent floss moving between teeth.
The presentation included a special guest as well, Leo, a friendly tooth puppet who helped bring the lesson to life and kept the students engaged throughout the demonstration.
By visiting classrooms and introducing good habits in a fun way, Dr. Jerry and Lily helped encourage students to start caring for their teeth early and feel confident about keeping their smiles healthy.

Dr. Jerry loves getting out of the office and into the community, especially when it means spending time with local elementary school students. During his visits, he brings energy, humor, and a big smile to every classroom, making what might seem like a routine topic feel exciting and memorable. His goal is simple: help kids understand that taking care of their teeth is something they can feel proud of.
Through fun demonstrations and interactive activities, Dr. Jerry shows students the right way to brush and floss. He breaks it down into easy steps they can actually remember and use at home. Kids get to see firsthand how brushing reaches every corner of their teeth and why flossing is just as important, even if it feels a little tricky at first.
Dr. Jerry also works hard to change the way kids think about going to the dentist. Instead of something to be nervous about, he presents it as a positive, friendly experience. He shares what happens during a visit, answers questions, and reassures students that the dentist’s office is a place where people are there to help them stay healthy.
By the end of each visit, students leave not only with new knowledge, but with genuine excitement about taking care of their smiles. Dr. Jerry’s passion for education and his ability to connect with kids make a lasting impression, helping build healthy habits that can stick with them for life.
